NEW DELHI:
Petrol and diesel prices
on Monday again reached new heights. Petrol in the
country's financial capital Mumbai crossed Rs. 91 a liter, and in Chennai it was sold at Rs. 87 per liter. At the same time, the price of diesel in Delhi went
above Rs. 75
per liter.
According to information
from IndianOil website, petrol was priced at Rs. 83.73, Rs. 85.53, Rs.91.08
and Rs. 87.05 per liter respectively in
Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai on Monday.
Diesel prices continue
to increase in the four metros of the country. In Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, on Monday, diesel was
sold at Rs. 75.09, Rs. 76.94, Rs. 79.72 and Rs. 79.40 per liter
respectively.
In Parbhani of
Maharashtra, the price of petrol was Rs. 92.84
per liter and diesel was Rs. 80.20
per liter.
Prior to this, CNG
prices were increased on Sunday too. Market
analysts show that the rise in prices of oil and gas may increase further, as
the increase in the price of the fuel is expected to increase in the coming
days from freight to passenger fares.
